I am very afraid that the worst is coming…

I did not want to write anything here about John Van Tip Ship and our National Team before the matches with Moldova and Kosovo, although I saw the evil approaching: defeat e.g. from Austria, in the way it came, was a bad omen. Our national team can still win the first place in the group of the Nations League and can maintain its position in the third group of capacity of UEFA, so that it has a (hopefully…) passable draw in the qualifiers of the Qatar World Cup – I remind you that this will take place in December. What I find more and more difficult is to become a regular team. I was expecting two things from Fan ‘Ship, in general. The first to take advantage of the indifferent games that the team had to give to the group of Euro qualifiers with teams such as Italy, Finland, Bosnia and Armenia, in order to reach conclusions about the material. Our team after the shocking draw with Liechtenstein in OAKA was mathematically excluded and gave games just to complete its presence in the group. I thought that these games would mainly help the coach to choose which players he would go with next and which he would leave aside: in simple words I expected to see his own team. The second thing I expected was that with his behavior he would remove all those discussions about the influence of third parties in the calls of the National – discussions that had started to become unbearable since the time of Michael Skibe and after the election of the Grammenou administration in the EPO. Unfortunately, neither of the two happened. Difficult From the match with Liechtenstein until today (and although the National Team gave us only one friendly game – the one with Austria) 34 players have been used! Our national team has changed goalkeeper four times, center forward four times, its defensive central duo four times, while the Dutchman has used four left backs (Stafilidi, Giannouli, Kyriakopoulos, Lykogianni) but has not given a chance for a whole year. to Tsimikas, who in the meantime arrived in Liverpool! Sorry, but it’s difficult to form a team. Objective The truth is that the National team played well in the indifferent matches with Bosnia, Finland and Armenia and stood decently against Italy in Rome. But in these games there was no scoring goal: as soon as the obligation of the results appeared, we saw in general again what we saw in the time of Angelos Anastasiadis, that is, players gesturing to each other, others who are afraid of responsibility and others who just make you wonder if there really is no one better in their place. With such appearances, it was logical to start the murmur about the choices and “why he plays and not the other”. And in this case the murmur became worse because the coach failed to stop the discussions about if and how and by whom he is affected. Yesterday e.g. AEL major shareholder Alexis Kougias issued a statement claiming, among other things, that Pelkas and Barkas lost their place in the National Team because they finally managed to transfer abroad and now the team leaders have taken on the task of promoting other bass players. their teams (PAOK and AEK that is) manage to sell them. I find it very heavy and I do not agree with it. However, the way the team is managed unfortunately leaves such room for reflection. Exaggerations It is true that a lot of exaggerated things are written about the National Team. In the previous days, we read indirect urgings to the Olympiacos players to refuse the calls to the National Team and analyzes on how much they are being wronged by the federal coach. All this provokes unpleasant discussions that are also transferred within the National. It is difficult for a player to offer, when the suspicion is that he is not a key player, because he plays in a team that has an open front with the EPO, but also no one likes to hear that he plays with a midfielder – to achieve e.g. his team to sell him at last. But the discussions on how and with what criteria Ethniki operates were unfortunately put on the agenda by the EPO itself. Neither the teams nor the journalists started this. I remind you that the management of Grammenos, without reason and cause (and against the wishes of the players), took the team from Karaiskakis. The Grammenou administration fired Mikael Skibe (because it was the choice of the previous administration…) to bring in Angelos Anastasiadis, while the team’s presence in the previous Nations League had not been completed and they were still playing a lot. The Grammenou administration upgraded Takis Fyssas as if to reward him for his famous depositions that would cause the relegation of Olympiacos and Atromitos. Even the management of the alleged crisis of Dimitris Siovas’s statements was done in a wrong way: Fan ‘Ship’s associates had to advise him not to go to Ivan Savvidis’ channel to give sermons, because it would seem that he does it to please factors that require it. The sequel was even worse. While the Dutchman cut off Siova because he immediately made hints to him and why he is tough in discipline, a few days later he made hints to Olympic coach Pedro Martins about using Fortunis and yesterday he did not say anything when two of his players, Hatzidiakos and Limnios almost came to grips during the match! All this I am very afraid can make the sequel even worse. And it is a pity. Because in the shortest time that the team had calmed down a bit, it also showed nice things. Draw The worst is not the draw with Kosovo. It is that this draw came after a good one in the first half game that ended 0-0 because Bakasetas lost a penalty and Pavlidis two – three good opportunities. If our national team plays well and still can not beat Kosovo at home (which had won away from home a month ago) the even worse, I am very afraid that they are coming…
